JAH Realty is pleased to announce the execution of a lease for a Mini-Max Food Store in Yukon OK. In a transaction that closed on January 1, 2022, Mini-Max simultaneously leased the 30,050 s.f. building and acquired the inventory and equipment from the Smart Saver grocery store owned by Buy For Less Foods. Larry Evans, the Oklahoma City Mini-Max Chief Operating Officer, confirms they plan to continue operating as Smart Saver in the Yukon location along with bringing additional “extreme values” to the low prices featured inside the store. Smart Saver will retain all of the current employees of the Yukon store.
Jeff Norman, of JAH Realty said, “we are extremely pleased to have a continued operation of a grocery store at Yukon Hills. Buy For Less/Smart Saver has been an outstanding operator at this location for 17+ years and it was important to our company and the community to continue serving the Yukon trade area with value priced groceries.” “Yukon Hills is a 120,000 s.f. shopping center anchored by Smart Saver, Five Star Fitness, Rent-a-Center, Dollar General and Mazzio’s Pizza” said Elise Lopez, who handles the portfolio leasing for JAH in the Oklahoma City market. “In our experience, grocery stores have consistently proven to be the best anchor tenants for community shopping centers as they drive high numbers of consumer traffic to our centers which, in turn, is beneficial to all of the merchants”, said Lopez.
Mini-Max is a concept developed by Bill Johnson who has owned and operated grocery stores in Oklahoma for over 50 years. Mini-Max is a value-oriented concept which will offer deeply discounted groceries as result of unique buying power strategies developed by Johnson and his team. This will be the second Mini-Max store in the Metro Area as they currently operate one other location in Midwest City and anticipate exploring additional expansion opportunities in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area.
